David Preston is the real deal and all of his info books are top notch. He had an epic post on the Warrior forum where he taught of an amazingly easy way to approach companies and install autoresponders onto their websites. You could then charge hundreds of dollars a month for a service that would cost only $10-15 to setup and maintain. There is a goldmine in offline marketing.

Thanks for your getting down to basics and actually working hard strategy. I was a real estate agent in the 70's during the time of rampant inflation and 18% interest, and we were taught to "farm" for leads. We were each assigned a geographical area and were expected to walk the streets, meet people, TALK to them, and build relationships. Your suggestion for workshops is modern farming. Get to know a thousand people, and ten will benefit from your services and one will become a lifetime friend. Whatever the number formula, people in equals sales out. Thanks for bringing reality back to making money. Hard work, effort, and a good plan are the keys to laying the foundations to success!

@John
Often you don't have to show proof, because your ideas have never occurred to them. These local business owners are just too busy running their shop to find out themselves. Your suggestions will be an eyeopener for them and they want YOU to do it; they simply lack time to do that.
Try it.

I have had great success with local business workshops. I run a small internet marketing firm in Missouri, and business owners are practically starving to find out how to monetize their website. Word of caution though..only do a workshop if you are extremely confident in your abilities.

Hi,

The idea is great. I've seen tons of people and friends who are making a fortune by sharing what they know online with local business owners. They get more than $1000 per deal. I'm thinking of doing that too. But my main concern is:

"I don't have the social proof that can show them how I can help them in increasing business or income proof."

Have you found any ways to overcome it.

Has anyone successfully done this? I'm wondering how well it would work. I can see the merit of this where local businesses want to expand their channels to maintain their current run rate, but I wonder if they have enough money to pay anything.

That's exactly what this is.
David Preston, the author, claims a 20-30% hit rate on recurring back-end orders.

the true definition of a cash cow is a business that consistantly makes big bucks year after year and the money from that is used to fund others. if that is what you mention here, then I am all in. Is it Case?

I agree with using a workshop. I held one in early November for members of the the local bar and booked almost 3 months worth of work from it. It's an outstanding ROI.

I agree, marketing via workshops and seminars can be a great source of clients. I know of a few businesses that get lot of clients from putting on workshops and seminars in their area.
