Thanks for the resource. I had never heard of Datafeedr. I’m taking it is only available for WordPress? Man, I really like the Datafeedr concept, I’m just not a big fan of WordPress. Your post may have made me change my mind, however. I may have to give WordPress another chance just so I can use the Datafeedr.

From my experience the best way to make money from a blog is to use it to sell or promote your own product. Selling affiliate products is the next best way. You can make some money from Adsense but you need a lot of traffic.

If you think you’ll be able to start a blog and sell some banner ads, and then wait for the money to roll in, you’ll be quite disappointed. It involves a lot of hard work and requires a few hours each day just to make a very little bit of money. I think it’s better if a blog fits into a larger strategy rather than the focus of your business.

Hi Frank,

I am sure it will be a sure shot win if someone follows all the steps listed. What about syndicated content, will that help at all in getting more content to your blog which will reduce your burden of writing tons of content. I mean controlled syndication.

It would have been great if you could have touched upon it.

I find a good way to build your list is when writing articles / guest posts, mention the freebie ebook and link straight to it. That way people come looking for it and some days, when I have had a few new such submissions, I really notice the list count building up.

I share the same thoughts that blogging for money can be lucrative by monetizing them with adsense, affiliate programs and so on. But just like a static website, blogs need lots of traffic to make money and blogs that are self-updating from comments by visitors are the best blogs to get traffic as they have new fresh content. There also seems to be also a lot of auto blogging software that can populate blogs with other peopel’s content for those blog owners who are lazy to write. There are pros and cons to autoblogging softwares depending on how one use it. Use it moderately and do some rewriting on the content will make your content unique. Just by having thousands of posts with duplicate content on your blog, is no good, because search engines may de-index the blog as a blog farm.

Good info. #6, #8, #10 very good. #9, not so much. For those of us without a lot of blog traffic it seems you’d have to have MANY followers to generate any revenue with dated banner ads, unless they were very specifically targeted to your blogs demo. Video would be a much better alt. Still good post.

This building list concept is really the #1 idea I see raised again and again by all successful internet marketers. There is some work to set it up, as you have to create unique content for your subscribers, but for sure the return on investment is worth it!

The only thing negative about datafeedr is that it is not for unlimited sites. The last time I checked I believe it was 97 a month for unlimited sites. Now with marketers like me just starting out, 97 a month can be a deal breaker.

These are all good ways to generate income, but in order to do this one needs first to generate traffic to its blog, and a good PR. Quality blog posts aren’t enough, as competition is getting bigger and bigger. Do you also have some advice regarding this?

Great couple of posts about making money from you blog. I am surprised you put the most important money making method in the last sport – Build you list.

I think this should be the number one method and the sooner you start implementing it the better your results will be down the line.

As the old saying goes, The Money is in The List, and that is simply true. Building your email list should be the number priority for you if you are going to make money from your blog and from internet marketing.
