    Hi Case,

This is an extremely valuable guide that I believe you could safely recommend to all levels of WordPress site builders.

I am not a coder and this stuff was all gobbldeygoop when I started three years ago to learn how to build a WP site. At that time the only guide that I could find was from Caroline Middlebrook, which I believe is still available as a free download also, but the images and structure have to do with much earlier builds of WordPress and the nomenclature and instructions would not make much sense to some with the new 2.8.6 era versions.

So now I have built probably a thousand sites and guess what? I just learned a couple of things from this beginners guide that I will use from now on, such as adding the “./” (minus the quotes,) in permalink categories.

Little things mean a lot when we are all competing for the love of the search bots.

So thanks to the author and thank you for making it more widely known.

Now I just read your comment terms and am shocked that you do not know Romanian, Russian, Bahassa Indonesia and Turkish fluently! LOL

All the best and thanks again.

    Word-press is awesome, seriously.

I wish I had used it when I made this fishing organizations site, I did not use WP, instead, I used the host’s default sit building tool….big mistake.

It had so many bugs, it probably added an extra 4 hours to my designing time.

Next time, I’m installing Word press!

    good luck!

I have been using wordpress for quite some time now. I still picked up a few valuable things from this guide. I highly recommend that anyone that is thinking about creating a website read through this guide at least once. You can save yourself a lot of time and hassle going with the wordpress platform. As one of the other commenters mentioned there are tons of fantastic plugins to help your customize your website to your liking. I linked the most recent wordpress site I created, as you can see it doesn’t even look like a blog. WordPress is so customizable everyone should try it out!

Great guide you made, I my selves have although used 1 click install hosting till now, which makes it even easier.

I noticed you recommend to take a hosting packages for multiple domains, i also use that, but i also spread my pages to different hosting companies in different countries, to get maximum SEO value, as far as i have understood, google will detect that links comes from same IP tree and give them less value?

Anyway bottom line you did great job with this guide,i am sure it would come in handy for many new bloggers

WordPress is the CMS of choice. Many new internet marketers either don’t know this or are misguided. I wish I had gone for WP when I first started online, WP + Thesis = 80% seo work done.

    Hi,

I got your ebook on WF before and now reading your post, both are valuable content. Well, I used your report as your recommendation at WF, however I need to add something there, apparently since the installation is in version 270 while Privacy setting is not a problem, but now with version 286, I think you should add Privacy settings too into the report because the privacy setting now will determine if our new blog will indexed or not.

    Thank you for sharing

Being an HTML/PHP coding guru, I never thought that WordPress was really worth using… Does it really make things easier? To me it seems like more hassle, but that’s probably because I’ve never used it. I think I should give it a try.

I downloaded it for curiosity’s sake and as I browse the pdf pages, I am gratified by the richness of it’s step-by-step content and the effort in providing the visual aids / screenshots. The 3.6 mb file size is worth downloading and browsing. This is a good find and I’m glad I downloaded it. Can’t wait to share it with some friends.

that’s a great guide. I think installing wordpress is easy – that’s just clicking fantastico in your host. the headache is when modifying them. loads of work ahead and sometimes you’ll end up messing the whole theme if you happen to forget making back ups! :D

    • Case Stevens says:

I can see, from your site, you must have a lot of experience with that! :-)
