That said, I agree that some aspects of fixing laptops that can be learned easily should be learned so you don't have to send it to be repaired for every little thing that happens. The power adapter plug had a short it in, and they wanted like 200$ for a new motherboard. So i just went and bought a new plug offline, and soldered it on my self. Works like a charm still even after a year later. They always find the way that gets them the most $$, instead of getting the job done the fastest I had a similar problem with a laptop i have.

I can fix most problems with my desktop as I used to build then before they became so cheap.

For example at the moment I cannot use my laptop because the fan has become very noisy. I am staggered to learn the cost of getting it repaired. I have been told it may be cheaper to get a new laptop as they are only £349!

As a matter of fact, I'm using that notebook right now. All that to say that having a second computer is priceless.
