How To Fix a Laptop – Home Business Opportunity

Do you know how to fix a laptop? I don’t.

There have been a few moments that I needed to know how to fix a laptop.

At some point, mine had hiccups and they finally resulted in the famous blue screen of death.

To make it worse, I was traveling at that time, so I wasn’t able to take it to the repair shop.

I didn’t know at that time, but it wouldn’t have mattered.

You see, many shops offer PC repair services, but not very many are covering laptops. They just take it from you and send it to the manufacturer’s repair service.

How To Fix A LaptopThen you have to wait for a message from them, telling you what’s wrong and you then have to decide whether or not having your laptop repaired. That procedure took weeks in my cases.

The reason for that, as they told me, is that laptops are manufactured so tight and so compact that repair shops don’t have the means to test them out and take them apart.

They have learned to fix desktop PCs, but they just don’t know how to fix a laptop. And that means they are leaving good money on the table.

Since they can’t, oftentimes for the owner simply buying a new one is more economic than having it send to the manufacturer’s repair service and miss the laptop for a couple of weeks.

A huge problem, since laptops can have many failures like failing screens, hinges, keyboards, power jacks and power cords, batteries, lockups, bootup failures, upgrade problems, etc., not to mention spilling coffee on the laptop of even worse, the famous blue screen.

Maybe it’s time to learn how to fix a laptop?
Pay attention and see if you can agree with my conclusions.

  1. There’s a huge demand for laptop repair, as they often have failures at moments we can’t afford them,
  2. there’s little supply as most repair shops don’t know how to fix a laptop, and
  3. the laptop users market is willing to pay for laptop repair, since they’re also willing to pay for their laptop replacements!

As you can see, knowing how to fix a laptop isn’t only a valuable skill to save your butt in times of trouble, it may also be a great home business opportunity.

Since you also know a lot about marketing, it shouldn’t be too difficult to establish yourself as a professional laptop repair service and charge a great hourly rate for it.

So if you can only learn how to repair laptop computers you will have knowledge that is in high demand. You can either step into a computer repair shop and offer your services or even start your own laptop repair business and make up to $65/hr or more.

If that opportunity is of interest to you then you might want to check out this video.
By the way, that’s an affiliate link from which I may make a commission. 🙂

It could be the start of a thriving business.

  1. I think that is where having more than one computer comes in handy.

I have a laptop and a desktop PC and when one of them goes wrong I can use the other to go online and find out what is wrong and fix it myself.

I’ve saved myself a fortune that way.

I’ve also earned some money by sorting out computers for my friends and family as well.

That is a very good idea. There are very few people that specialise in repairing laptops, so it is a fairly niche market and a great opportunity. Though I think prevention is better than cure, so it is worth remembering the three most important rules of computing…back up…back up and back up! (Especially now that the price of large capacity USB hard drives is so low).

I have had this problem twice now. I can fix most problems with my desktop as I used to build then before they became so cheap.

For example at the moment I cannot use my laptop because the fan has become very noisy. I am staggered to learn the cost of getting it repaired. I have been told it may be cheaper to get a new laptop as they are only 349!

Talk about adding to the green problems. I have tried to open the case and look at the fan because I swap faulty fans in desktops no problem. I am unable to event open the laptop case!

I agree there is a good market here especially for a reasonably priced service that came to your home.

It sounds wierd that repair shops can’t fix a laptop. I have never tried getting one repaired as often it will cost the same as buying a new one. Also, fixing it yourself might require new hardware which is hard to find for laptops. But might be economically a good idea.

I had a similar problem with a laptop i have.

The power adapter plug had a short it in, and they wanted like 200$ for a new motherboard.
So i just went and bought a new plug offline, and soldered it on my self.

Works like a charm still even after a year later.

They always find the way that gets them the most $$, instead of getting the job done the fastest

I know how to fix a laptop, but I didn’t think that I can make money from this. I just helped my friends until now .

Hi, I am totally agree with your idea

but to solve LAPTOP crash problem like getting blue screen or system file missing problem you can try to make a system rescue (recover) disk by using NORTON GOST which is the best recovery tool , you can save money and time both

if you come across physical problem then you must choose a private service to rapir it which will cut comission of mediater service man and save time as well

this is the best solution than to acquire two laptop unless you are a millionaire man

and your idea of starting laptop repair service is also good, but before starting you should have good knowledge and the same field.

I hope my idea will offer best solution

    bye..

Hopefully you will back up your data on a regular basis. I am guilty of not doing this as often as I should. I seem to get 2-3 years use from a laptop. As technology advances, the laptops we use are becoming more reliable, last longer and are less expensive. I still do not see how computer manufacturers make money on computers.

It must be great to be able to repair your own laptop and even venture to being an entrepreneur. I am from the Philippines and it took two months for the service center of my laptop to have it fixed. From the province, they have to forward it to Manila, and from there, they have to request the parts from Japan. Hassle.
