Great article, one thing I can say is its very important to never give up on what you want to accomplish. In my opinion most failures are within the first few months. But it takes a lot of hard work before you can start to see results. Because of this a lot of people quit. The key is never give up and use every minute possible to promote what your selling or working to accomplish.

This is a pretty good article, for me personally running a home business i try and do a few differnet things..
-separate home from the office. I set up a temporary wall between my office laptop, and home pc. This way i can use them for separate things and not be tempted.

-Keep a 9-5 schedule ( or best you can)

-I also suggest setting goals, when you have free time, rather than sitting on the couch, advertise your business or do pro-bono work. Stay active!

The key for my home office success has been to improve daily.

If I can look back at yesterday and see that I have either:

1. Learned something of value, or
2. Set something positive in motion, or
3. Made any measurable progress,

then I take satisfaction in progress.

It’s only when I get overwhelmed by all that I have to learn or do that I feel like a failure.

Count the little victories! Think about it, if I make even ONE measurable improvement of any sort, and I do that every single day, that’s 365 little improvements over the course of year. (give or take a few for the random holiday or sick day).

While I’d like to be the hare who sprints to success, I’m much more adept at being the turtle.

I’ll take it.

The power of positive thinking is critical to achieve anything in life. Guitar is a perfect example of dedication and perseverance that is required to become good at something.

Setting goals, both long term and short term have been critical for me. I need to have a plan for my overall measure of success and then establish smaller, shorter term goals building toward the bigger ones.

I also needed a dose of “being realistic” when I started since my original short term goals were tough to achieve…
