The Real Truth About Making Money Online

The Real Truth About Making Money Online

Today I present another guest post by famous Internet marketer Steven Wagenheim.
It won’t be his last one, as Steven is a prolific writer. That’s how he generates tons of traffic to his sites where he offers great solutions to common problems.
Here’s today’s article, called

The Real Truth About Making Money Online

One of the things that I get a chuckle over is all the hype and misinformation that gets circulated around the Internet when it comes to making a living online.

I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about…the sales pages that promise you the moon, the get rich quick schemes, the whole mess. It’s enough to make you sick.

Well, this article is going to reveal some truths about making money online. You may not enjoy hearing them, but if you’re going to have any chance of surviving in this jungle, you might want to make a note of some of these.

For starters, there is no quick way to get rich online.

Starting and running a business takes time and it takes a lot of work. The few rare exceptions to this rule were total flukes and most likely happened because somebody came up with a once in a lifetime idea that just happened to catch fire.

The chances of something like this happening are slim to none. Most businesses take time to establish and you’re not going to see a substantial income for many months.

Another myth I want to destroy is that you can make a good living online without knowing what you’re doing.

Sure, if you’ve got the money to just go out and hire everybody you need to run your business, I guess you could be dumber than a stump and make a go of it.

But in most cases, you’re pretty much on your own. And this means understanding a number of things including product creation, copywriting, ad writing, article writing, web site creation and the list goes on and on.

Most people don’t realize this, but there are tons of skills required to run a successful online business.

The last one I want to go over is that all you have to do is put up a web site and the money will come pouring in.

Contrary to popular belief, just having a web site doesn’t guarantee you an income. The Internet is a huge place and the chances of somebody finding your web site are slim to none if you don’t promote it properly. There are many ways to promote a business online. Some are more effective than others but the bottom line is simple. Without actively promoting your site, nobody is going to see it.

There are of course other truths about making a living online. In my signature is a link to a report that goes over many of them. The point is, unless you understand what you’re up against, you’re not going to be prepared for what you’re going to encounter along the way to those easy riches.

Oh yeah…that’s another one.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

“Another myth I want to destroy is that you can make a good living online without knowing what you’re doing.”

I think people need to realize that this business is like any other–there is plenty of money to be made but only if you understand how it works and what you’re supposed to be doing.

It’s nice to see people imparting truth in this hype filled industry.

I have to totally agree with JainQ. All the people out there that are under the impression online business is easy and can make you a millionaire overnight, need a reality check.

The Marketing / Advertising hype has mislead & distorted the accuracy of business ethics. I feel more sorry for the people that fall for the schemes that are looking for a way to pay bills they are behind on.

The reality is that you get out of it what you put in. If your budget is $0.00, sure you may make a few bucks here & there after a few weeks/months of self marketing. But that’s about it without investment capital.

Making Money online for a living is really difficult. I know many people entered this business finally left for nothing. I am trying to achieve a good position for 7 years. Still I am learning. Still need to work hard better than before. There are many things I need to learn from the beginning more after digging to find new ways to succeed. But it is possible.

The truth is it is very hard to make money online. Anyone who is making any substantial income online will tell you this. I’ve been online for a number of years and have done well for myself. But, even being an internet marketing guru I can still have my ups and downs.

Learning how to make money online takes time and effort. You cannot just learn about how to monetize and expect to make money. There are a ton of skills that you have to learn to be successful. And those skills take time to build and master.

I have a good perception to the truth about internet businesses. The truth is that once you have learned what the SEO business is like, how blogging can play a big role and other link building concepts, it really comes down to one thing. Content my dear friend, is KING..

Thank you for being so honest, how I just wish that we all became honest and think twice before we promote dreams that never exist to otherwise very serious people.

This is the kind of post that needs to make it to Digg’s front page.

Yes, it’s possible to make money on the internet but there is work and a lot of it to be done before one can achieve any significant success.

It all boils down to quality content, planning and focusing, being persistent and passionate and always learning something new.

This is exactly the kind of thing I try to explain to people launching in the business and thinking they’ll get rich. It takes time and a lot of efforts! I can’t remember the number of sleepless night I’ve spent doing some SEO/building websites but in the end it’s well worth it!

I’ve subscribed to your feed by the way, nice article.

If making money was so easy to do we would all be multi millionaires by now,I am forever telling people how hard it can be and how much actual work you have to do.I actually started off my internet business with not much knowledge on the matter but i have learned since then and most days i spend in front of my computer promoting my sites.its not just hard its very very time consuming if you are dedicated to making your business successfull.

I fully agree with this article. I am trying now for about 1 year and have earned next to nothing! It is a lot of fun since I am wrting about what I know. However, it is also hard work. This is why I have started a “getting rich” information site in Dutch. The main aim of the site is to explain how it works or at least might work (as far as I have understood it today). But it makes it very clear that it will not work without blood, sweat, and tears!

It’s not too easy to make money online as it looks. We have to work really hard to get some money of a website or blog.

Yes I agree. Here is my concept to make money online. First you create a helpful website that will be full of real free information people will pay money for. By this I mean make your site so helpful that your literally giving away all your supposed secrets. This will make you fill the site with so much helpful information that people will start to revisit and the word will spread like wild fire. After about a year or so of having tons of traffic flowing through to get the free stuff, pull the free plug and then you start to charge for it. Do not make the mistake of wanting to charge to early on your site. Its like over watering your plant seed.

creating an online business that makes you money in some cases is much harder than creating a business in the real world. You got to work really hard and do not expect any decent revenue for some time (months and even an year)

Everyone interested in making money online should read this article. The “gurus” will have you believe that the internet marketing product they are selling you will make you millions and bring tons of traffic to your site. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to create helpful, unique content. Then you have to get the traffic. Great site!

You need to start from the lowest lifeform if you want to make a living on the net. At least you need to know the basic of how to promote your site in the fastest and cheapest way.

I have friends asking me how I make money online. They seem to find it easy to earn money online. What they don’t know are the countless hard works and sleepless nights that I spent over the years to get a little slice of the internet.

This is a great post!
