Local Business Videos To Help YOU!
I received quite some questions about my post on Make Money Helping Local Businesses from last week.
Some people wondered if there weren’t already too many other Internet marketers doing this.
The answer is NO.
Of course there are people already helping local business. They found out how profitable a market this can be and they are already making good money.
Still, they’re just a drop in the ocean.
There are thousands and thousands of local business owners who are desperately seeking for just a little bit of professional help and they’re willing to pay for that. Don’t forget, this market is HUGE!
Another remark I got from a lot of people was, that they don’t feel confident enough to really help local businesses to make a profitable online appearance. They doubted if they had enough knowledge of search engine optimization and building local websites.
I had a discussion with some of these people and it turned out that they all were able to set this business up. They just lacked some confidence.
And I understand that.
It’s a big step to take and you definitely want to make sure you can make it before jumping in.
That’s why I bought the rights to a series of 10 videos, explaining how to set up your business helping local entrepreneurs.
Here’s what you’ll discover in these videos:
Video 1 The One Crucial Local Business Sentence
Video one discusses the first meeting with a perspective client (a small business owner) and the one crucial sentence that you should ALWAYS use to start the conversation.
Video 2 Building The Local Site
Video 2 covers building a site for a local business. It’s really easy to do, and I use a content management system (CMS) called WordPress to do it.
Videos 3-6 Customizing Your Local Site
Videos 3 through 6 deal with customizing the site and taking it from looking like the typical WordPress blog that you get when you first install WordPress and turning it into something that looks, feels and acts like a regular website.
Detailed instructions are provided to optimize your local websites.
Video 7 Google Local Business Center
This next step is to get the business and its website listed in the Google Local Business Center/Google Maps. This will get the business listed.
Video 8 The Best Local Business Traffic Source
This section is going to briefly cover the best traffic source for your client’s site. As far as I’m concerned, social networks are the best traffic source that you can use for this. Sure the search engines are great, and that traffic will come naturally, but you can go out and get the traffic pro-actively via social networks and not wait for it to come searching for you.
Video 9 Recurring Local Business Income
This section is going to cover how to setup your business in such a way that you create a recurring income that comes in month after month, rather than one shot deals where you only get paid one time for creating a website for a local business.
Video 10 Local Business Summary
Well, that about wraps it all up.
We’ve covered everything from the first conversation with your perspective client, all the way to setting things up in such a way that you’ll getting a recurring income from each client.

Hi Case:
I already have “Offline Gold…….” but I’m not sure I bought it from you. In any case, I know that he has some follow up ebooks on that same subject (i.e. helping local businesses). Would I be able to get these reports if I bought one of those other publications? I’d like to have them.
Regards,
Art
p.s. regarding the question that prompted this article of yours….it’s silly to think that this ‘offline’ market could even began to be saturated. You’re right….it’s just too huge.

Hey Art,
Sent you an email with instructions on how to get the videos.
Let me know what you think of them.

Case

You are absolutely correct. I would say 9 out of every 10 business owners I speak with have never had a offer brought to them like this. Many have received spam versions in their inbox, but they were not willing to even consider hiring someone who could not even make a more personal request.

Hi Case,
I’ve thought about doing something like this, but I didn’t know how to get started. So I bought Online Gold since you recommended it. Now I need the videos! Please let me know how to get them. Thanks!

Confindence is definately something that needs to come first when trying to start any business. If you don’t believe in yourself how do you expect other people to.

I’m launching a new business in the next month, is all the information you produce relevant to the UK market?
June 14th, 2008 at 4:54 am
@Hibernian
Yes, you can use all info in the UK.
Sometimes minor things may be different, like having a Chamber of Commerce in your region, but any other similar organization will do.

So this offline gold ebook explains how to gain local businesses as clients for online marketing services correct? Or am I misunderstanding this?
June 14th, 2008 at 11:02 am
The ebook explains how you can make money by helping local businesses create and improve their online presence.
One of the topics discussed is about getting local businesses as clients.
June 14th, 2008 at 11:08 am
Confidence is definitely one of the most important things when trying to obtain new clients. I, maybe unfortunately?, had to learn that the hard way.
Another thing I’ve had a hard time with is coming up with prices so that I’m not ripping myself off, but I’m not overcharging the client either. …It’s amazing how much people will pay for a website.
June 15th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
As Case mentioned above, targetting local businesses seems to be the best techinique.
I have started making my rounds visting local businesses and passing my business cards around. It’s kind of tiring during these hot summer days but I have found a few potential clients.
I do web sites. I am a web designer.
What got me was how many businesses right next door to me already had web presence. Perhaps I should have tried to contact them earlier.

I guess where I am coming from is that there is so many different people out there trying to give you advice on these sorts of topics, that it is all too easy to take the wrong advice, and shell out hard earned cash to find that the video or product that the internet marketer is selling is actually a waste of time. I have made this mistake before. $20 isn’t much, but still, I guess it takes more to sell to me in this industry. Thanks.

@Case
This sounds very interesting indeed. I think I’ll look at purchasing it very soon.

IMO the most important skill an Internet marketer needs for succeeding when helping offline businesses is salesmanship. To approach small businesses, you need to develop those skills. Well worth spending some time with a successful salesman - esp one who sells to businesses.
June 16th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
So many small business owners I have talked to have been burnt by expensive website “packages” that gave them a beautiful website with no traffic. If we offer them a deal that pays us only for results, I am sure many of them would consider it.

BIG ‘thank you’ to all commenters here.
@Ally
Correct! Be confident and don’t charge too low are two very important factors helping local businesses.
@VJ
Great going. Open up a bit about yourself at your site. Tell about your experience, so people gain confidence about hiring you.
@Free Vector Clip Art
Yes, it’s not easy to pick the right opportunities. It’s a matter of building trust and credibility. A good way to start this is give a bit more of yourself at your site.
@Mario
Looking forward to that.
@Kevin
Right! Therefore the ebook starts with just that and gives you the one sentence you should start a conversation with.

Hi Case,
I’m running an accommodation type of directory making use of various listings. Would your video guide be suitable for my line of business ie: I would be approaching establishment owners trying to get them to sign up with me in one central site?
June 17th, 2008 at 11:50 am
One of the most important thing is to have confident in yourself and adequate knowledge on search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM) and how to build website. If there is no confident you will not be able to help the local business owners to achieve is objective online.
I think with the help of Offline Gold for the online marketer above, the video and little research online, will help one to build more confident to enter into the market and help other local entrepreneurs to achieve there gold online. Good luck
June 17th, 2008 at 12:05 pm
Yes, this guide and the videos are all about having local businesses, including establishment owners, sign up for your services.

Fact of the matter is, the little local businesses are loosing market share to online marketers, competitors who had found the best practices for small business niche marketing over the Internet. The online world is the place to be, even for the brick and mortar businesses. Great info! Thanks
June 17th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
HI,
You must have to consider all steps which are mention above.It is best way to promote your local business..Google local search is best way to promote local business..
June 18th, 2008 at 11:32 pm
Not afraid of taking risk is one of the factors to be considered if you want to make your business successful. Thanks for this very nice post, I had great time reading to it.
June 19th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
As a local business owner myself, we definitely are looking for true value for our money. A fancy website is nothing if it doesn’t bring clients in the door. It’s crucial for internet marketers to convince us that we’ll actually get clients from the internet. As one commenter above mentioned, it might be great if the marketer’s payment is tied to actual clients coming in the door!

I agree it is a big sector to cover and can result in quick expansions if quality provided.
Your blog was really informative and a good guidance, cheers — keep it up.

I was about to purchase this, but I was unsure of what steps I need to take in order to make sure you are aware of my purchase so I can receive the bonus videos.
June 23rd, 2008 at 5:08 pm
@Mario
I’ll see it when you buy.
But you can also remind me by sending an email to helpdesk, followed by the symbol @ and then my domain name.
Hope you understand I don’t list it here.
June 24th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Oh I understand that you don’t want to list your email haha.
June 30th, 2008 at 9:53 am
I bought this a couple months ago; I don’t think it was from you. I found it interesting, but lacking some details (which is seems your videos address).
The problem I’ve had is that I’m working for a client, trading time for money, instead of setting up a more passive income situation. That and the clients don’t give me answers when I need them so everything takes longer than it should.
Oh and, I find it difficult to make up amounts to charge for various services.
