@LaRene True. Now only those who persevere eventually will become successful, but at a cost: work!
As for finding niches: look at trends people follow and pay money for.

@Evan If you’re looking for great stats for your blog, Google Analytics is the best option imo. Technorati is more of a blog search engine.
Yes, Yaro and Darren are great, modest bloggers, but there are more of them. You will be amazed how many of these A bloggers will help you or at least respond to you when you ask them questions!
In any situation, no one knows exactly what solid wise action is. That’s why we also are entrepreneurs. We learn from our own mistakes and if we do, we can only become better and better.

No success without action. Absolutely true.

It needs to be wise action (eg the need for focus).

I’m not sure we know all we need to know for wise action in the blogosphere yet. It’s awfully hard to get good information. The information there is tends to be hedged with doubts about its accuracy (eg what does a Technorati ranking really mean? Are google analytics much better?)

Also, people aren’t necessarily successful for the reasons they think they are. Sometimes we’re just in the right place at the right time. (There are two famous people who acknowledge that this was part of their success – Yaro Starak and Darren Rowse. How I wish there were more with their humility and honesty!)

We need to know of those who enrol in courses who succeed and who don’t and why. Very few courses even ask their students about this. Until they do we won’t be getting the kind of information we need.

Action is essential. Wise action is better. And we need lots more information before we will know what solid wise action is.

If success was easy, everyone would be rich. You are right. It takes work and dedication. We as humans have a tendency to give up and quit. It’s trying to find you niche that takes the most work.
You gave a good reminder of what we need to do.
